Diabetes is caused by increased sugar in the blood (Hyperglycemia). It is a chronic disease. Excess glucose in the body draws more water from tissues.
Major Symptoms:
- Poly urea – frequent urination especially night
- Poly phagea – Increased hunger
- Poly dypsea – extreme thirst
- Weight Loss
- Drowsiness and Burred vision
Minor/major symptoms:
- Burning sensation in the hands and soles
- Over growth of nails
- Easily tired – Fatigue
- Wounds take long time to heel
- Red swollen gums
Every one should take regular check ups for their sugar levels. High risk persons should monitor rheir sugar levels from 30 year onwards.
